We are very excited to be attending this years Develop and Evolve conferences being held in Brighton, UK.
We are covering the conferences on behalf of Imagine Magazine published by Wildfire Comms based in Bristol.
The conferences are dedicated to the international games industry. There are talks from both industry luminaries to newly formed companies and indie game producers.
“Running alongside the Develop conference on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 July is the Develop Expo. It’s free for all visitors to attend and brings together some of Europe’s most innovative companies from every sector of games development.
At the heart of the Expo is the Develop Bar & Networking Lounge sponsored by Unreal Technologies so you don’t have to go far to buy colleagues a drink, have an informal meeting or just mix with other visitors.“
I’m sure by now most people will have heard that this years Bloc Festival was cancelled. We were supposed to be covering the entire weekend on the Main Stage featuring artists like Amon Tobin, Snoop Dogg and Orbital among others.
We had only been on-site a matter of a few hours before it became apparent that the entire event was going to be shut down. From our own observations on the ground this was absolutely the right decision to take on the part of the organisers. It’s a very sad outcome but was unavoidable. We wish the organisers well and hope that the fall out can be limited and this unfortunate event doesn’t mean the end of Bloc.
Whilst we were there we met some fantastic festival staff that had been involved with Bloc Festival from the very beginning, they were all extremely upset by the turn of events and we wish them all the very best along with the organisers.
There has been much speculation regarding the reasons for the early closure but this really is futile, the MET and the organisers will make their reasons known as soon as possible in the mean time jumping to conclusions helps no-one.
“We are currently gathering information about Friday night’s events. We are also working to ensure that everyone will be refunded for their tickets. Please bear with us while we do this.
Thanks to all of you, as well as the many artists and crew who travelled across the world to come to Bloc – we are so sorry that we couldn’t deliver the experience we had planned.
And thanks so much to the event control, security, stewards, police and public who worked together to ensure that no one came to harm during the peaceful evacuation.
This is far and away the most important result of the night.
For those of you who are frustrated and angry – we hear you. For those sending love and support – thank you.
More news soon.
The Bloc team x”

Lenssniper is very luck to be going to this years Bloc Festival in London on many photo missions. There will be a myriad opportunities to photograph some very big names like Snoop Dog, Steve Reich, Amon Tobin, Gary Numan and a personal favourite Apparat.
Had a great time at Charles Hazlewoods Orchestra in a Field gig this past weekend. I even got to build and have a little play with a set of Tubular Bells rented from Mike Oldfield no less. Very good event, had the opportunity to meet some very talented people like Charles, Will Gregory & Adrian Utley.
A particula highlight was the Premier of The British Paraorchestra
